"Cadet in the artillery on 30 September 1754; second lieutenant on 1 January 1757; lieutenant on 27 March 1760; captain on 31 July 1767; chef de brigade on 1 June 1786; lieutenant-colonel on 1 January 1791; colonel on 8 March 1793, commanding the 4th regiment; general of brigade on 25 February 1794 (confirmed on 1 April 1795). Murdered at Col de Tende ... He had made the campaigns between 1756 and 1782 in Germany, Corsica, Brittany, and Normandy, then with the Army of the Alps (War Archive)." Bouvier, F.
