The 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship ran from 2 June to 19 June across seven Mexican venues, including Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey. Thirty-two matches were contested, culminating in a final at the Azteca Stadium where Brazil defeated Argentina 1–0 to claim its first title in the competition.
