Anushka Sharma (born 1 May 1988) is a former Indian actress, film producer, and model known for her work in Hindi cinema. Born in Ayodhya and raised in Bangalore, she studied at Bangalore University and Anna University Chennai's Regional Office in Tiruchirappalli before entering the entertainment field. Sharma started her career as a fashion model in 2007 with her debut assignment for designer Wendell Rodricks, later moving to Mumbai to grow her modeling career.
Sharma made her acting debut in 2008 alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the romantic film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which was a commercial hit that kickstarted her film career.
