Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland was born on December 21, 1966, at St Mary's Hospital. The son of well-known actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, he grew up in a family dedicated to the performing arts. He went to several schools, including St. Andrew's College and Harbord Collegiate Institute, before deciding to pursue acting full-time. He holds both British and Canadian citizenship due to his family roots and time spent in both countries.
