Michael George Ansara (April 15, 1922 – July 31, 2013) was a Syrian-American actor whose career in film, television, and voice work lasted over sixty years. Born in Syria, he moved to the United States and eventually settled in California. There, he attended Los Angeles City College before starting his professional acting career. He became one of Hollywood's most recognizable character actors, often playing Arab and Native American roles, and was known for giving performances that combined authority and physicality across various genres like Westerns, historical films, and science fiction.
