Abdul Muttalib Al-Qaisi, a 57-year-old Jordanian civilian who had been delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza for three months, crossed the Allenby Bridge cargo terminal on the Jordanian side driving a truck loaded with aid. His motivations were not publicly detailed, but the attack occurred in the same location as a similar attack in 2024.
On September 18, 2025, Al-Qaisi opened fire on Israeli personnel in the cargo terminal at the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan, killing Lieutenant Colonel Yitzhak Harosh, 68, and Sergeant Oran Hershko, 20. Israeli security forces returned fire and killed the assailant.
Israel temporarily closed and then, on September 24, indefinitely closed the Allenby Bridge crossing following the attack. The incident marked the second deadly shooting at this crossing in just over a year, raising further concerns about the security of the route used for humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza.
