Event

Sixteen national teams competed in EuroBasket 2005 from 16 to 25 September 2005. Greece faced Germany in the final, winning convincingly 78–62 to claim the country's second European title. Germany's Dirk Nowitzki, despite finishing on the losing side, was voted the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
