Lu Ban was a master carpenter, architect, structural engineer, and inventor who lived during the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China, around 507-444 BC. Born in the state of Lu during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, he became known as one of China's most celebrated craftsmen and engineers.
