Biography
Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born on October 23, 1976, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He's the youngest of four brothers and grew up in a middle-class Irish Catholic family. His father, James Chester Reynolds, worked as a food wholesaler, and his mother, Tamara Lee, worked in retail sales. Reynolds went to several schools, including Prince of Wales Secondary School and Kitsilano Secondary School, and briefly attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He also studied at The Royal Conservatory of Music, but his interest in acting soon took over.
Reynolds started his entertainment career in the early 1990s with small TV roles in Canadian productions. He got his big break with the Canadian teen soap opera "Hillside" (called "Fifteen" in the United States) from 1991 to 1993. This success led him to move to Los Angeles, where he faced some struggles at first but eventually landed roles in various TV series and made-for-TV movies in the late 1990s.
