Stephan Rosti, born on 16 November 1891 in Egypt and known in Arabic as استفان روستى, was a key figure in Egyptian cinema and theater during the twentieth century. He had a long career spanning several decades, working both as an actor and a film director. He became a well-known personality in the Egyptian entertainment industry just as it was starting to take shape. His contributions were significant in the early development of Arabic-language cinema.
Rosti was particularly skilled at playing complex or villainous characters, which distinguished him from many of his peers and made him highly sought after for intense and dramatic roles.
