The 1974 Formula One season brought the Belgian Grand Prix to Nivelles for the second time, continuing the circuit's brief hosting stint as part of a 15-race World Championship calendar that included both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles.
On 12 May 1974, Emerson Fittipaldi won the 85-lap Belgian Grand Prix at Nivelles driving a McLaren-Ford, finishing ahead of Niki Lauda in a Ferrari and Jody Scheckter in a Tyrrell-Ford. The race also marked the Formula One debut of Tom Pryce with the newly formed Token team.
This race proved to be the last Formula One event ever held at Nivelles. For most of the following decade, the Belgian Grand Prix shifted to the Zolder circuit, ending Nivelles' short-lived place on the Formula One calendar.
