Niki Lauda had already won the Monaco and Belgian Grands Prix earlier in the 1975 season, establishing strong momentum and form aboard the Ferrari 312T heading into the seventh round of the championship at Anderstorp.
On 8 June 1975, Niki Lauda won the Swedish Grand Prix at Scandinavian Raceway over 80 laps, finishing six seconds ahead of Carlos Reutemann's Brabham BT44B, with Ferrari teammate Clay Regazzoni completing the podium in third place.
The victory gave Lauda his third consecutive win of the season and extended his drivers' championship lead to ten points, while Reutemann moved past Emerson Fittipaldi into second place in the standings.
