The Wimbledon Championships continued as the third Grand Slam of the 2007 tennis calendar, with Centre Court undergoing reconstruction that precluded a roof installation. The tournament also introduced Hawk-Eye electronic line-calling technology on its two show courts for the first time, replacing sole reliance on the Cyclops system.
Held from 25 June to 8 July 2007 at the All England Club, the tournament produced several notable outcomes: Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in a 3 hour 45 minute final to claim his fifth consecutive Wimbledon title; Venus Williams won the Ladies' singles over surprise finalist Marion Bartoli; and Jamie Murray and Jelena Janković won the mixed doubles.
Federer's fifth consecutive title matched Björn Borg's Open Era record, cementing his status as the dominant grass-court player of his generation. Jamie Murray's mixed doubles victory ended a 20-year drought for British players in senior Wimbledon titles, while the adoption of Hawk-Eye marked a shift toward electronic officiating assistance at the Championships.
