The 2007 World Aquatics Championships were held in Melbourne, Australia, from 17 March to 1 April 2007, with competitions staged at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, St Kilda Beach, and Rod Laver Arena, which hosted a temporary pool named the Susie O'Neill Pool.
The championships attracted 2,158 athletes from 167 nations and drew more than 215,000 spectators, surpassing all previous attendance records for the event and prompting FINA President Mustapha Larfaoui to declare it the largest and best championships in history.
