Biography

Aly Cissokho, born on September 15, 1987, in Blois, France, is a French professional footballer known for his speed and endurance as a left-back. Cissokho has played in various European leagues and has represented France internationally. He's known for his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively on the left side, making him a key player for the teams he's been part of.

Cissokho started his career in Blois with Blois Foot, before moving to Gueugnon in 2004, where he spent three years in their youth system. He debuted professionally in the 2006-07 season but stayed only one season with the club. His skills soon drew international attention, leading to a move to Portuguese club Vitória Setúbal in June 2008. His time in Portugal's top division was short, just half a season, before he moved to Porto, one of Portugal's top clubs.

At Porto, Cissokho tasted major success, winning the league and cup double and making his UEFA Champions League debut. His strong performances caught the eye of top European clubs, including AC Milan. Although a transfer to Milan fell through, Lyon signed him for €15 million with a five-year contract in July 2009, bringing him back to France.

After Lyon, Cissokho moved to Spain's La Liga with Valencia at the start of the 2012-13 season. He was then loaned to Liverpool for the 2013-14 season, experiencing the English Premier League. Later, he joined Greek club Olympiacos before moving to Thailand, where he now plays for Lamphun Warriors in Thai League 1. Cissokho's international career with France began with a call-up in November 2009, and he made his senior debut in a friendly against Norway in August 2010.

Before Fame

Cissokho grew up in Blois, a historic city in the Loire Valley region of France, where he first started playing football with local clubs. He began his early development at Blois Foot, the hometown club that gave him his initial football education and training. Moving from amateur football in small-town France to a professional level required dedication and the right opportunities for young players like Cissokho.

He took his first step into professional football by joining Gueugnon's youth academy in 2004 at 17. This move was a major leap from local amateur football to a structured professional environment, where he could hone his skills over three years. The French football system's focus on youth development allowed players from smaller towns to reach higher levels, and Cissokho's speed and defensive skills made him a promising option for scouts seeking talented full-backs.
