Biography
Henry Allerdale Grainger, commonly known as Allerdale Grainger and nicknamed 'Ally', was born on 7 August 1848 in Cumberland, England, and died on 17 December 1923 in Leamington Spa. Educated at Rugby School, one of England's most distinguished public schools, he later emigrated to Australia, where he built a career that spanned investment, accountancy, journalism, and politics in South Australia.
