Johan Henrik Thomander was born on 16 June 1798 in Fjälkinge, Sweden. He became a prominent Swedish figure in the nineteenth century, known for his work in theology, literature, translation, and academia. His reputation extended across Scandinavia and beyond. He passed away on 9 July 1865 in Lund, where he spent much of his professional life and is best remembered.
