Biography

Victor Moses was born on December 12, 1990, in Lagos, Nigeria. As a child, he moved to England and attended Whitgift School in Croydon, where he honed his football skills. His professional career began with Crystal Palace in the Championship, and his performances there caught the eye of Wigan Athletic, where he made his Premier League debut in 2010. During his two seasons at Wigan, he showed his ability to play effectively on the wing, combining speed and direct play to become a consistent threat in the league.

In the summer of 2012, after impressing at Wigan, Moses was signed by Chelsea. In his first season at Stamford Bridge, he scored ten goals across all competitions, a promising start for someone adapting to a team competing for major titles. Despite this, he found it hard to secure a regular starting spot and spent the next three seasons on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City, and West Ham United. These stints allowed him to gain regular playing time and continue developing his career, though a permanent breakthrough at Chelsea was hard to achieve.

Moses returned to Chelsea for the 2016–17 season under manager Antonio Conte, who played him effectively as a wing-back in a 3-4-3 formation. This role change was significant, and Moses made 34 appearances as Chelsea claimed the Premier League title. The club also won the FA Cup that year, bringing Moses two major domestic titles. He married Josephine Moses, and during this time, he became one of the well-known faces in English football. However, his form dipped the following season, leading to loans to Fenerbahçe in Turkey, Inter Milan in Italy, and Spartak Moscow in Russia over successive seasons.

Internationally, Moses represented England at youth levels, playing for the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-21 teams. He eventually chose to play for Nigeria at the senior level, debuting for the Super Eagles in 2012. During his international career, he earned 38 caps and scored 12 goals. He was part of Nigeria's winning team at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and competed in two FIFA World Cups, in Brazil in 2014 and Russia in 2018. He retired from international football in 2018.

After leaving Chelsea, Moses continued his club career across Europe and beyond, eventually joining Kaisar in the Kazakhstan Premier League. Throughout his career, he showed versatility, playing both as a traditional wide forward and as a modern wing-back, adjusting to the tactical needs of his managers.
