The Korean Grand Prix was established in 2010 at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Korea, as part of Formula One's expansion into new Asian markets. By 2013, the event had reached its fourth and what would prove to be its final edition on the championship calendar.
On 6 October 2013, the 2013 Korean Grand Prix took place as the fourteenth round of the FIA Formula One World Championship. Sebastian Vettel won the 53-lap race for Red Bull Racing, with Kimi Räikkönen of Lotus F1 finishing second and Räikkönen's teammate Romain Grosjean finishing third.
Vettel's victory contributed to his dominant 2013 title campaign. The race marked the end of the Korean Grand Prix as a Formula One event, with no subsequent editions held at the Korea International Circuit, effectively concluding the short-lived chapter of Formula One racing in South Korea.
