The 2020 Formula One World Championship calendar included a return to Imola for the first time since 2006. The circuit hosted the 13th round of the season under the newly coined Emilia Romagna Grand Prix name, reflecting the Italian region in which it is located.
On 1 November 2020, Lewis Hamilton won the 63-lap race at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, with Valtteri Bottas finishing second and Daniel Ricciardo third. It was the 28th Formula One race held at Imola and the first-ever under the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix designation.
Hamilton and Bottas finishing first and second gave Mercedes enough points to clinch the 2020 World Constructors' Championship, breaking the previous record for consecutive constructors' titles by securing their seventh in a row.
