Running from 5 to 20 September 2015, the tournament culminated in Spain defeating Lithuania 80–63 in the final at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, with Pau Gasol named MVP. France claimed bronze by beating Serbia 81–68. The final set a new EuroBasket attendance record of 26,922 spectators.
Spain secured their third EuroBasket title, and the top two finishers, Spain and Lithuania, earned direct qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Five additional teams advanced to Olympic qualifying tournaments, with Latvia, Croatia, and Turkey later also qualifying through various routes.
