Liam Hemsworth was born on January 13, 1990, in Melbourne, Australia, to Leonie van Os, an English teacher, and Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counselor. He is the youngest of three brothers, with Chris and Luke Hemsworth also pursuing acting careers. The family moved to Phillip Island when Liam was young, where he spent much of his childhood surfing and enjoying outdoor activities. He attended Heathmont College and later Newhaven College, where he first became interested in acting through school productions.
