Luis Fernando Díaz Marulanda was born on January 13, 1997, in Barrancas, Colombia. He's become one of the top Colombian footballers of his generation, making a name for himself as a dynamic left winger with incredible speed, dribbling skills, and ability to press opponents. He started his professional career in Colombia's second division with Barranquilla before joining Atlético Junior, where he played a key role in the club's victories in the Categoría Primera A, Copa Colombia, and Superliga Colombiana.
In 2019, Díaz moved to Europe when Porto in Portugal signed him for about €7 million. His time at Porto was transformative, as he developed into a highly regarded winger in Europe, helping the team win two Primeira Liga titles, a Taça de Portugal, and a Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. During the first half of the 2021-22 season, he was outstanding, scoring 14 goals in 18 league games, which caught the attention of top European clubs.
