Samira Said, originally named Samira Abdelrazak Bensaïd and born on January 10, 1958, in Rabat, Morocco, is a well-known Moroccan-Egyptian singer and actress. She became one of the most famous Arab pop voices of her time. Performing under the name Samira Said, she crafted a career that connected the musical styles of North Africa and the Arab East. She eventually moved to Egypt, where she has lived for more than 50 years and developed her unique sound based on Egyptian Arabic music.
