He is a Ukrainian politician and former professional boxer who has been the mayor of Kyiv since 2014. Before Fame

Vitali Klitschko grew up in the Soviet Union during the later years of the Cold War, moving often because his father was a Soviet Air Force officer. This background taught him discipline and physical toughness early on. Both Vitali and his younger brother Wladimir started combat sports as kids. Vitali first excelled in kickboxing and later moved to professional boxing, winning the WBO heavyweight title in 1999. Growing up in the collapsing Soviet Union and emerging in an independent Ukraine influenced his focus on both athletic success and civic involvement.
