The Nürburgring was added to the 2020 Formula One calendar, hosting its first race since 2013. The event was named the Eifel Grand Prix after the Eifel mountain region surrounding the circuit, and proved to be the first and only edition of the race in Formula One history.
Held on 11 October 2020, the Eifel Grand Prix was the eleventh round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship. Lewis Hamilton started from second on the grid and went on to win the race, claiming victory at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, Germany.
Hamilton's victory drew him level with Michael Schumacher's long-standing record of 91 Formula One Grand Prix wins. As of 2025, the race also stands as the last Formula One World Championship event held in Germany.
