The European Broadcasting Union organised the thirteenth Junior Eurovision Song Contest, awarding hosting rights to Bulgaria's national broadcaster BNT, marking the first time Bulgaria hosted the event. Seventeen countries registered to participate, including debuts from Australia and Ireland, while Albania and Macedonia returned after multi-year absences.
On 21 November 2015, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held at the Arena Armeets in Sofia, Bulgaria, and presented by Poli Genova. Malta's Destiny Chukunyere performed 'Not My Soul' and won with 185 points, followed by Armenia in second place and Slovenia in third.
Malta's victory was its second in the contest, having also won in 2013, making it only the second country to win twice within a three-year span. The winning score of 185 points surpassed Spain's previous record of 171 points from 2004, setting a new high-water mark in the contest's scoring history.
