Biography
Adam Pavlovčin, known as Adonxs (stylised in all caps, pronounced ə-DON-iss), was born on September 13, 1995, in Myjava, Slovakia. He became a standout voice in Central European contemporary music during the 2020s, blending his Slovak roots with a growing presence in the UK music scene. He went to C. S. Lewis Bilingual High School and later studied music at BIMM University in the UK, gaining technical skills and industry connections.
Adonxs first gained wider attention as the lead singer of Pace, a London-based alternative band inspired by indie and art-pop. His work with Pace built his reputation in the UK alternative music scene and set the stage for his solo career, which attracted significant attention in Slovakia and across Europe. His debut solo studio album, Age of Adonxs, came out in 2022 and received high praise in Slovakia, winning Album of the Year, Best Male Artist, and Best New Artist at local music awards. The album, with tracks like Moving On and Game, showed his artistic depth and willingness to try new production styles.
His success extended beyond the music press, with Forbes including him in its 30 Under 30 list, acknowledging his influence as a young creative talent. He also got recognized at the Hudební ceny Evropy, a well-known European music award event, where he earned two honors. These awards confirmed his importance in Slovak popular music and in the broader Central and Eastern European arts scene.
In 2025, Adonxs represented Czechia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Kiss Kiss Goodbye, highlighting a key point in his international career. Although he didn't make it to the Grand Final, his participation showcased his broad appeal and ability to connect across European cultures. His choice to represent Czechia, instead of Slovakia, showed the flexible and collaborative nature of his career, which has always moved across different countries.
Before Fame
Adam Pavlovčin grew up in Myjava, a small city in western Slovakia, during the post-communist era when Slovak cultural production was actively exploring new forms of expression and international connection. He went to C. S. Lewis Bilingual High School, where he gained language skills and a global perspective, which later helped him build an international career. His bilingual education in a country with a small music market likely influenced his decision to seek opportunities abroad.
After high school, Pavlovčin attended BIMM University in the United Kingdom to study contemporary music. This move took him to one of Europe's most active popular music scenes, where he started forming his artistic identity as Adonxs. His time in London, where he also joined the alternative band Pace, provided him with the collaborative experience and industry exposure needed to grow as both a performer and a solo recording artist.
