Nguyễn Tuấn Anh (born 16 May 1995 in Thái Bình, Vietnam) is a Vietnamese professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. He is currently with Thép Xanh Nam Định and has been a solid presence in Vietnamese football for over a decade. Known as one of the most skilled midfielders from Vietnam, Tuấn Anh is praised for his precise passing, strong positional skills, and calmness under pressure.
Tuấn Anh developed his skills at the HAGL – Arsenal JMG Academy, a partnership between Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and Arsenal Football Club's training network, which aimed to train young Vietnamese players using European methods. He joined Hoàng Anh Gia Lai's first team in 2015, along with other academy graduates who would influence Vietnamese football at both the club and international levels. His early growth was greatly enhanced by the academy's technical coaching style.
Internationally, Tuấn Anh has played for Vietnam across various age groups, including the U-19 and U-23 teams, before becoming part of the senior squad. He has competed in several editions of the AFF Championship, Southeast Asia's top international tournament, as well as in Asian Cup qualifying, giving him experience in both regional and continental competitions. Joining the academy as a teenager, Tuấn Anh trained with a group of players who would help raise the profile of Vietnamese football both at home and abroad. By 2014, at just nineteen, he was already nationally recognized as Young Player of the Year, highlighting how quickly he had grown in the academy's structured environment.
