Biography

Rondae Jaquan Hollis-Jefferson was born on January 3, 1995, in Chester, Pennsylvania. He honed his basketball skills at Chester High School, where he became one of the top recruits in the country. His high school success earned him a scholarship to the University of Arizona, where he played for the Arizona Wildcats. In college, he was known for his strong defense and athletic versatility, making him a promising prospect for the professional level.

Hollis-Jefferson was picked in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers but was then traded to the Brooklyn Nets, where he spent most of his NBA career. Over six seasons, he played for the Nets, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, and Houston Rockets, among other teams. Known for his defensive skills and athleticism, he became a reliable wing player capable of guarding multiple positions. His NBA career was solid, though sometimes affected by injuries and team changes that limited his playing time and development.

After his NBA stint, Hollis-Jefferson moved to international basketball, playing for teams in various leagues outside the United States. He gained Jordanian citizenship, allowing him to represent Jordan in international competitions and qualify as a local player in certain leagues. This new status as an American-born, naturalized Jordanian opened up more opportunities in global basketball.

Hollis-Jefferson achieved significant success in the Philippine Basketball Association, playing as an import for the TNT Tropang Giga. He won three PBA championships with them and was named Best Import of the Conference three times, earning the honor at the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup, the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup, and the 2024-25 PBA Commissioner's Cup. His success in Philippine basketball made him one of the most celebrated imports in recent PBA history. He later joined the Meralco Bolts in the East Asia Super League, continuing his professional career in Asia.
