Iskandar bin Rahmat, a serving senior staff sergeant in the Singapore Police Force, carried out a premeditated attack on 67-year-old Tan Boon Sin at the victim's home at 14J Hillside Drive. The circumstances that motivated the murders were examined during trial proceedings.
On 10 July 2013, Iskandar murdered Tan Boon Sin inside his home and also killed Tan's 42-year-old son, Tan Chee Heong.
