Aleksander Paldrok, born on May 16, 1871, in Kavastu Rural Municipality, Estonia, was a physician, medical scientist, and military officer who made important contributions to dermatology and venereology in the Baltic region. He studied medicine at the Imperial University of Dorpat and graduated in 1896, when the school was a leading medical education center in the Russian Empire. His education there led to a career focused on scientific research and improving public health.
