Kamil Jacek Glik was born on February 3, 1988, in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, in southern Poland's Silesia region. He grew up playing football in Poland's youth leagues and started his senior career with Piast Gliwice in the Ekstraklasa. From 2008 to 2010, he played there and became known as a strong defender who could compete at the top level of European football.
