Khoshbakht Baghir oglu Yusifzadeh was born on January 14, 1930, in Pirshaghi, a settlement on the Absheron Peninsula in Azerbaijan known for its connection to the petroleum industry. He became a leading figure in Azerbaijani oil science and industry, gaining recognition as an academician and serving many years as the First Vice-President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
