Pastor Rafael Maldonado Motta, born on March 9, 1985, in Maracay, Venezuela, climbed the ranks in single-seater motorsport to become one of the top Venezuelan drivers ever. He made history as the first from Venezuela to win a Formula One Grand Prix. Before Fame

Maldonado grew up in Maracay and started his motorsport career in lower-level racing, moving through different European series in the mid-2000s. He raced in Formula Renault and Formula Three before advancing to the GP2 Series, the main stepping stone to Formula One. In 2010, driving for the Rapax team, Maldonado won the GP2 Series title, showing the speed that eventually got him a spot in Formula One.
