Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri is an Emirati politician, scientist, and software engineer who has been instrumental in building the United Arab Emirates into a space-faring nation. Born in 1987 in the UAE, she is now the Minister of Education and chairs both the UAE Space Agency and the United Arab Emirates Council of Scientists. Her career includes several high-level roles in government and space exploration, making her a key figure in the UAE's drive for technological progress.

Al Amiri studied computer science at the American University of Sharjah, which set the stage for her work in space technology and government. She began her career during a time when the UAE government was heavily investing in technology to diversify its economy and become a leader in advanced sciences and space exploration.

As Deputy Project Manager of the Emirates Mars Mission, Al Amiri led the development and launch of the Hope probe, which successfully entered Mars orbit in February 2021. This made the UAE the fifth nation to reach Mars and the first Arab country to carry out an interplanetary mission. The mission's success put the UAE on par with major space powers like the United States, Russia, China, and India.

Before her current role as Minister of Education, Al Amiri was the Minister of State for Advanced Technology at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
