Biography
Aysel Teymurzadeh was born on April 25, 1989, in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, Soviet Union, during a time of major political and cultural change in the region. She attended Texas High School and then studied at Azerbaijan University of Languages, where she honed her language skills alongside her musical talents. Her background in languages later benefited her international music career.
Teymurzadeh became a well-known name in Azerbaijani pop and R&B music in the late 2000s. Her big break came in 2009 when she was chosen to represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest with Iranian-Swedish singer Arash.
