Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is a Ugandan lawyer and politician who made history as the first woman to be Speaker of Uganda's Parliament, serving from 2011 to 2021. Born in 1956, Kadaga has spent much of her career in public service and legal practice, becoming one of Uganda's most notable female political figures. Her ten years as Speaker made her the third-highest-ranking official in Uganda's government, following the President and Vice President.
