Biography

Jaime Manuel Penedo Cano was born on September 26, 1981, in Panama City, Panama. He became one of the top goalkeepers in Panamanian football, gaining international recognition with a career that took him to different countries and leagues for over ten years. His steady performance and leadership made him the clear first-choice goalkeeper for the Panama national team for around twenty years.

Before Fame

Growing up in Panama City during the 1980s and 1990s, Penedo matured in a place where football was a big part of the culture but didn't have the facilities or international spotlight that bigger footballing countries did. Panama's local league was competitive in the region, but it didn't offer many chances for global recognition, so young players aiming for professional careers needed to look abroad. Penedo followed this path and eventually joined the Spanish football system through Osasuna B, which laid the technical and tactical groundwork for his later success in Central America, Europe, and North America.
