Biography

Jorge Luis Dely Valdés was born on March 12, 1967, in Colón City, Panama. He is the twin brother of fellow footballer Julio Dely Valdés and the younger brother of Armando Dely Valdés, which makes the Dely Valdés family one of the most famous footballing families in Panama. Jorge played as a forward and became one of the top scorers his country has ever had at the international level.

Before Fame

Jorge Dely Valdés grew up in Colón City, a port city on Panama's Caribbean coast, where football was a big part of daily life. With his older brother Armando already pursuing a professional career and twin brother Julio developing alongside him, Jorge was in a competitive setting from a young age. In the late 1970s and 1980s, Panama had limited football resources, so young players often needed to look abroad to improve their skills and pursue professional careers. This situation influenced Jorge's path and led him to seek opportunities in South America and Europe.
